It's tempting to treat each of these as standalone psychological problems. But the most useful questions are often: What changed? When did it change? What else started around the same time?
Menopause may be part of the explanation. It should never become the explanation for everything.
WHY HYPNOSIS BELONGS HERE
Not bolted on. Backed by research
The Menopause Society's 2023 nonhormone therapy position statement lists clinical hypnosis as a Level I evidence intervention for vasomotor symptoms.
A 2013 randomised controlled trial found substantial improvements in hot flushes with a five-session clinical hypnosis intervention.
A more recent randomised trial found self-administered hypnosis reduced hot-flush scores and interference significantly more than an active control.
We're just as clear about where the evidence is thinner. You won't find claims here that hypnosis "balance hormones" or "fixes cortisol" — and that honesty is exactly what makes your practice credible to clients and GPs.

SCENARIO
Same client. Three hypnotherapists. Three different treatments.
Sarah, 48: hot flushes, waking at 3am, irritable with her partner, struggling to concentrate, and worried she's “losing it.”
Hypnotherapist A
Targets sleep.
Hypnotherapist B
Targets hot flushes.
Hypnotherapist C
Discovers Sarah's biggest distress is the fear she's becoming incompetent at work.
All three could technically treat Sarah. This training teaches you to find the treatment that matters most to her.
